What is Prezi?

Prezi is an online presentation software similar to powerpoint.  It can be accessed publicly for free on http://www.prezi.com

How to Get Started

First go to prezi.com and click the sign up button in the top right hand corner of the screen to create an account. There are several different options you have when signing up. You can option to have the pro-service but it costs money. Once you have an account you can get stared by watching tutorials that are offered or you can just dive on in and explore the program on your own.

Tools

Templates

Allows you to pick from already made formats where you just plug in your information and pictures

Write

Allows you to add written text to your prezi presentation

Show 

Allows you to go from editing the presentation to viewing it. 

Colors and Fonts

Allows you to change the font and the colors.

Frames 

It allows you to make boxes and circles to designate where certain information is placed

Insert 

This allows you to insert different types of media and items like shapes and youtube videos.

Path

This allows you to pick what information is shown when and it leads you from one frame to the next when you use the show mode.

Other features

Saving

It saves for you every so often and you can click the saved at button in order to save manually. 

Meeting

This is where you can invite people to edit your presentation

Print

Allows you to print your presentation

Help 

Is there if you are having trouble figuring something out

Exit 

Allows you to go back to the prezi start page.

There is also a section of the website called Explore where you can look at other prezis you can use (for educational purposes) or that can help you develop your own ideas.

Prezi is a new way to use technology in your classroom and get the student attention with the many zoom features it has.  You can also give master control to other students and let them take control of the presentation.
